The science of gut-brain

Pinpoint hidden gut-brain imbalances

Neurodiverse kids often experience digestive issues, mood swings, sleep struggles, and sensory challenges. Kite Health test helps uncover imbalances in gut bacteria and their byproducts (metabolites) that may be silently contributing to these symptoms.

Go beyond DNA—see what the gut is actually doing

Unlike standard microbiome tests, this one shows real time activity— what the microbes are producing and how that impacts brain function, inflammation, and behavior. It’s a dynamic snapshot of the gut-brain connection.

FAQ

Why focus on gut brain for autism?

At least half of autistic children experience chronic gut issues. Research shows that distinct gut-bacteria imbalances can play a major role. These hidden factors may influence behavior, sleep, and overall comfort. By testing gut and metabolic health, we provide clear answers that help explain symptoms and guide targeted support.

What ages is the kit for?

We designed it for ages 4-9 because this is when gut-brain interventions show the biggest impact. Contact us if your child falls just outside that range—we still may be able to help.

How long until I see changes?

Every child is unique, but parents often report improvements in mood or GI comfort within 4-8 weeks of following their personalized plan. In some cases, changes are significant and, in others, it takes longer to see small, incremental improvements. Our team of specialist practitioners are available to help interpret these changes and provide specific recommendations.

Do I need a prescription?

No. This is a wellness test you can order yourself. We include talking points for sharing results with your pediatrician or therapist.

Do all kids with ASD or other neurodevelopmental issues have gut or metabolic problems?

Not all, but about half have significant GI symptoms; many show metabolic differences. Our test identifies hidden contributors.

Is the KiteHealth test clinically validated?

Based on proven lab methods run in CLIA-certified facilities; ongoing studies with universities, further validate our combined approach.

How invasive is the testing?

Non-invasive: first-morning urine sample or small stool collected at home.
